The experience was truly exceptional. The self-catering chalets are outstanding. Mr. Goodman provided exceptional personalized service. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to make my husband's birthday memorable, complemented by a fantastic meal. The trails offer an experience that should not be missed, and the waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking. This location is highly recommended for both family vacations and romantic getaways. We extend our gratitude to Mount Sheba and anticipate a return visit.
We had the pleasure of staying at Mount Sheba and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by nature, the lodge offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, with breathtaking views that make every moment special. The rooms are comfortable, well-maintained, and perfectly blend with the natural surroundings. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive, making us feel welcome from the very beginning. The food was also excellent, with delicious and beautifully presented dishes. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with nature. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tranquility, beauty, and outstanding service. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you See you soon Marta & Wiánn
Wow, this hidden stop is a peaceful place, feels like you are in heaven. We were basically in the clouds. The food served by the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Excellent value for your money, not expensive for all that we got starter, main and desert. I would definitely visit this place again and again. Getting to the location however is a mission impossible or uncomfortable. +/- 15 to 20 minutes of sand road, however the surroundings is stunning, breathtaking
Beautiful resort. Chalets very well equipped and clean. Every Chalet has it's own inverter system, impressive. Good wifi. Service was excellent. Highly recommended. Gravel road to resort is just in a very bad condition. Slow going..
This is a recount of our journey to the land of peace, beauty and harmony. I hope you enjoy it. The teeniest little birds sit safely up in their gallery on the telephone wires, peering down at mad motorists navigating potholes below. The best thing about Lydenberg is leaving. The flat spot between the iron mongering mines and the mountains ... This forsaken scruffy little thoroughfare is an unfortunate part of the road to paradise. The ratio of pothole to tar is decidedly wrong. To add insult to injury, between the potholes are speed bumps. Is this their macabre humour? Onward and upward we forge, sharing the road with wayward goats and other creatures going about their daily grocery shopping. Blissful peaceful fresh mountain air – at Mount Sheba Forever Lodge The odd stray yellow-eyed black velvet kitten, family of tiny somango monkeys, a car-eating Great Dane, lots of sherry and interesting iced tea. So, we are here, nearly 2 km above sea level. A leopard was apparently seen in the bush more than half a year ago. Mount Sheba Forever Lodge, near pilgrims Rest, Mpumalanga. Way up at the top of the toppest mountain tops, with the eagles, king fishers, red and black DarthVader-like locusts, but wait for it - NO MOSQUITOES Towels are the fluffiest thickest thirstiest I've ever encountered BUT the monkeys are crafty sly confident little creatures of the somango variety. Stole an entire loaf of honey seed bread from inside the cottage. The weather in the high mountains is as fickle as a tormented soul. Baking sun occupies the day, followed by a mischievous winds, laced with ice. The breathing earthness shakes and tickles the flora including the over 2-storey high kiepesol / cabbage tree. Except for Jiminy cricket and a rare comment from a bird aloft, plenty pieces of peace. Time to brew up some steaming mugs of hot chocolate. WARNING: The African Adventure Googlemaps is not recommended for outside the city limits Thanks to Goofy Google Maps it took us 3 hours to get back Driving narrow spindly mountain roads, coiled in misty fur, what little night vision there is for non feline creatures, worsened by pure natural darkness of nowhereness. Yeah, this is logging country. These fellas seem to work round the clock, snail pacing overladen horse and carriages, of the modern variety, up precarious snaking passes, round double hairpin bends, through the dense wall of night. With only G-d's fingernail moon dangling in the velvet abyss above. @googlemaps has successfully misguided us in Jozini, Zululand, Sabie, Mpumalanga and even Pretoria. We've landed safely and are now tucking into a bottle of Merlot for comfort .... Hair still firmly elevated eeeek! On this bright sunny bushveld morning, we present the orchestra of Jiminy Cricket and friends, accompanied by bird song and tree breeze. Amidst this little amazon, high up in sky valley with freshly brewed coffee. Green carpets of forest, indigenous flora, wild flowers smiling out from the hollow of an old tree trunk. Laughter of distant monkeys and the feint buzzing harmonizing with other of nature's musicians. Yellow flutter byes silently paint the garden as they kiss the rainbow of wild flowers. Dark chocolate moths, decorated with painted eye wings and a pure golden stripe, provide decadent culinary delights for the monkeys. Dainty little grey patterned wag tail birds hobble across the well-fed juicy lawns, on their way to a wriggling morsel of fresh, live prey.
