We recently enjoyed a three-night stay at Dikgomo Cottages and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The property is truly exceptional for anyone travelling with dogs. The cottage has secure fencing surrounding a large private garden, giving dogs plenty of space to run freely and safely. There is even a crystal-clear doggy pool for them to cool off in ... something my four absolutely loved! The farm itself is peaceful and beautiful, with Nguni cows roaming nearby (who are very accustomed to dogs). There are well-marked walking trails through the bushveld, abundant birdlife, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. It’s hard to believe such tranquillity exists only about 100km from JHB. The cottage was spotless, well-equipped, cosy, and fully functional despite being off-grid - with reliable electricity and hot running water at all times. Pierre, the host, was outstanding. Communication was excellent throughout and he went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, even preparing a thoughtful welcome layout on arrival. This is far more than simply “dog-friendly” accommodation ... it truly feels designed with dogs in mind. We will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend Dikgomo Cottages to anyone looking for a peaceful escape with their fur-babies.
We enjoyed our weekend so much! Many places say they are pet-friendly, but Dikgomo truly takes dogs into consideration. The area where you stay is fenced, giving your dog plenty of space to play and run safely. The different camps are situated out of sight from each other, which gives you lots of privacy. We also loved the short walking route. It was the perfect getaway for both us and our dog.
Perfect "Pawsitive" Getaway If you want to treat your dog to a holiday, look no further. This place is idyllic and serene. The host is on the ball and takes pet-friendliness seriously, which made our stay stress-free. Our dog was obsessed with watching the cows on the property! The cottage itself is quaint, rustic, and very cozy. 10/10, we will be returning. This place offers a splash pool for pets, a full sized pool for humans, ample amount of hot water, a boma area, a fully stocked kitchen and many species of birds to watch.
We spent 7 nights at Dikgomo in the Dairy cottage and it was absolutely wonderful! The cottage is really well-equipped with everything you could need. The garden is spacious and fully fenced, so our furry kids could play and run around safely. Pierre, our first point of contact, provided outstanding customer service – from start to finish he was incredibly friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. There’s also a lovely walking trail where you can take your dogs for a stroll. Dikgomo is about 45 minutes from Pretoria, and it was so special for us to be able to bring our woofies along. We really enjoyed the peaceful quiet and tranquility (and the calls of the Piet my Vrou!). A true getaway! 🐶🏡
I had a very relaxed stay at Dikgomo, I enjoyed the splash pool and the yard is very big, my 6 fur babies thoroughly enjoyed the space. The facilities are nice and dog friendly. Although it is a solar powered unit, the water was very hot from the geyser and the beds clean. The unit didn't have any whiff of other dogs on arrival. Everything was very clean.
