I recently stayed at Bushbuck Farm near Humansdorp, South Africa, and it was an incredible experience! The self-catering chalets are nestled in a gem of indigenous forest, offering a serene and surreal escape. From early morning till late afternoon, the forest is alive with the chirping of birds, immersing you in raw nature with just the right amount of comfort. The hosts are truly special, constantly upgrading the place to make it even more special. Words can't do justice to the beauty and tranquility of this place; you have to see and experience it for yourself. The small bushbuck single track forest tracks are perfect for an early morning run or hike. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful place to stop over on a "busman's holiday". My cottage was beautifully appointed and had all the appliances and equipment for a self catering stay. Bushbuck Farm is nestled in a natural, indigenous valley and my cottage had a view of the forest heading down to the river. The bird life seen and heard from the cottage was incredible. Dee and Richard were exemplary hosts and are passionate about their little Garden of Eden. I had a memorable time at Bushbuck Farm and will definitely return on my next road trip.
We found a spot of paradise!!! Bushbuck Eco Retreat is a very special gem! If you’re looking for somewhere to completely unwind in nature - look no further! The cabin we stayed in was tucked into the trees, beautifully appointed with everything we needed for self catering. The bed made for a heavenly sleep! Trails from our cabin door enticed us into the forest 🌳 full of indigenous trees and plants, along running streams where wild buck can be seen! Wow! We were even treated to a paddle up the river by amazing hosts Dee & Richard - who couldn’t have been more obliging or helpful! I’d highly recommend Bushbuck Eco Retreat to anyone!
Beautiful, peaceful and close to nature. Perfect place to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved the trail walks through the farm forests and the kids thoroughly enjoyed fishing and paddling in the farm river. 30 mins from a range of activities in St Francis Bay/Cape St Francis. We will definitely be back!
